TotalEnergies is hiring a Business Development Lead to work in Cabo Delgado.
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Lead will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of social investment activities in compliance with internal policies, country regulations, and international best practices. This will involve coordinating with various internal stakeholders, such as Compliance, Legal, C&P, government relations, stakeholder engagement, and support services, to ensure proper implementation of activities. The Business Development Lead will also work with the communication department to ensure that all social investment initiatives are effectively communicated and properly branded before, during, and after implementation to ensure greater visibility.
Other key responsibilities include producing monthly and quarterly reports of all activities/projects, overseeing project progress through regular updates and meetings, reviewing reports shared by implementing partners, working with the M&E team to define templates and KPIs, maintaining key databases related to programs, coordinating humanitarian support, participating in meetings and key engagements, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners, identifying business opportunities, overseeing the fulfillment of all Cabo Delgado activities, and being accountable for the management of social performance activities at the provincial level.
Context and Environment:
The Business Development Lead will act as the Social Investment interface and play a key role in designing, delivering, and managing social investment projects and processes. The position will provide support to all different functions within Social Investment and will be the key contact person for Social Performance in the province. The position will be based in Pemba and Palma on a rotation basis, with visits to Palma Maputo and other areas in the Cabo Delgado province as appropriate. The position reports to the Manager of the Social Investment unit that forms part of Social Economic Development Team.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Business Development, Social Sciences, or other relevant areas such as Communication, Linguistics, Marketing, or Community Development, with post-graduation being an advantage.
The candidate must have oral and written proficiency in Portuguese and English languages, with local and international travel as required.
The candidate must also have a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience, with a proven track record of managing development initiatives with an emphasis on social investment/community development projects, including but not limited to livelihood, MSME development, business development, and business incubation areas.
The candidate should have knowledge of international best practices in the development field, experience working with the private sector, and the ability to work with a team consisting of Social Investment development practitioners.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, good networks within the Cabo Delgado area, and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are also necessary.
