Vaga-Facultative Underwriter-Emeritus

Description

Emeritus Resseguros S.A. is looking for a Facultative Underwriter to join their team in Maputo.

Duties:

Collect the necessary information to evaluate possible business and determine the acceptable risk/business;

Review business applications using the underwriting manual's internal parameters, such as prior loss records, age, credit ratings, and other internal characteristics.

Prepare reports that include assessments and results that aid in the final decision-making process;

Technical help to insurers on business quotations, prices and coverage determination, and terms and conditions negotiation with brokers and insurers;

Respond to credit control, broker, and insurance inquiries.

Requisites:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in any relevant subject (business, natural and applied sciences, and law) is required;

Experience of five years;

COP or similar certification;

English fluency is required;

Ability to utilize reasonable and sound judgment; Analytical thinker with research skills;

Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities;

Working under duress and adhering to strict deadlines;

Interpersonal and negotiating abilities;

Knowledge of underwriting requirements in depth;

Ability to form positive alliances and relationships with insurers, brokers, and other relevant stakeholders.

Skills:

Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities; 

Meticulous attention to detail; 

Good bargaining and interpersonal skills.
